I finnaly got the car out on a full quarter on Aug 8.
I loosened up the front shocks and softened the rear and was rewarded will a 1.46 60ft
I think there is still a litte more in it. I hope to ditch that cam,carbs and intake go to a solid roller, victor and dominator for next year. This cam was out of steam well before the finish line.
I know this is a mismatch of parts, got such a awesome deal on this motor I would have paid as much for a good short block.

You need better heads and a better cam. 13 to 1 compression and racerite oval port heads? Even if they are the biggest one's they're marginal for that size engine. A solid roller with a decent set of heads should make a nice difference. Personally I'd keep the t-ram and carbs, maybe upsize to 750's later on. A t-ram is the cheapest way to get 30-50 hp. Plus you get that super responsiveness you just can't get with a single carb.

We have a 2000 lb firebird that runs that gearset with a 565 in it.
same 430 rear.

I haven't weighed the car yet, I'm thinking its around 3000lbs
