Based on the traditional F-100 truck platform, this hot rod is an absolute beast. Debuting in the 1953 model year, the Ford F-100 pickup is classified as a milestone pickup. This second generation of the Ford's F-Series truck line was one of the first post-war pickups to gain collector status with happy Ford owners holding onto their trucks beginning in the 1970s. A lot of these trucks saw engine swaps and less than authentic restorations, which make a bone stock example exceedingly rare today. The truck presented here is the perfect model of what you can truly build with the right amount of creativity.
Originally from California, this 1955 F-100 has undergone a professional 20-month restoration completed by Motorcity Grind. Upon inspection, you will notice that the roof has been chopped 4" and all the body panels were media blasted and epoxy coated with the final finish being a matte black. Completing this hot rod look is a custom front grille, shaved door handles and custom aluminum bed.
Under the hood is a new Coyote 5.0L V8 that boasts 400 HP and a Gen3 10-speed automatic transmission. The truck has been placed on a Fat Fender complete frame assembly with aluminum radiator and gas tank. With new coil over suspension, this truck handles like any modern vehicle. Additional drivetrain upgrades include Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes with Wilwood master cylinder and a Ford 9" rear end with 3.89 gears.
Within the cab, you will find loads of customization as well. Some of these items include, restomod AC system, billet dash vents, Dakota Digital gauge cluster, premium sound system with touch screen, and a custom center console. Gorgeous leather bucket seats provide enough space for the driver and a single passenger.
This truck shows just over 1100 miles since the restoration completion and has many more miles of driving to be had. If you are looking for a turnkey hot rod pickup, I truly cannot think of another example of such great craftsmanship available. If you are in the area, this would be a great vehicle to check out in person. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
