1988 Ferrari Testarossa
Initially, Enzo Ferrari had no interest in producing road cars with his primary focus revolving around racing. However, in 1947, this would change as Enzo now needed a way to fund his racing project Scuderia Ferrari. The solution was selling factory race cars and thus the consumer Italian luxury sports car was born. Today the Ferrari name is associated with some of the most popular luxury sports cars on the road. In the world of exotics Ferrari is among the most well known and for many these are true dream cars people wish they could own one day. When it comes to the 80's no Ferrari is more recognizable than the Testarossa. Odds are if you ask someone to describe a vintage Ferrari, this is the one they will talk about. They were introduced at the 1984 Paris Auto Show and the rear mid engine design improved stability and cornering by keeping the centre of gravity in the middle of the car. This 1988 Testarossa is in excellent condition and all original. It was previously sold at auction by a Hollywood director whose name was not disclosed during the sale. It is painted in its original Red paint which is in great shape. The body is all solid throughout. On Ferraris maintenance is key and this one has been well cared for since new. The engine out service was just completed less than 700 miles ago. The odometer currently shows 744 miles and was replaced at 33,127 miles. The car sits on its original wheels wrapped with Goodyear P315/35ZR17 tires which have plenty of life left in them.
Propelling this beauty down the road is its original 4.9L Tipo F113 flat 12 cylinder motor. The car runs very well and needs nothing. The motor is paired with a 5 speed manual transmission that moves through the gears smoothly with no issues. If you have never had the opportunity to drive a Ferrari, we can guarantee it is a unique experience. Behind the wheel there is no doubt that you are sitting in a high performance work of art.
The interior is a Beige and Black combination and in great condition. To keep it looking great the car lives with protective covering over the floor mats to make sure it stays in good shape for many years to come. The dash, gauges, console, etc have been kept all original and everything works properly. Buying a Ferrari was more than just purchasing a new car and this one comes with all of its original leather bound Ferrari manuals, luggage and tool kits.
Between 1984 and 1996 only 9,939 of these were produced. With many belonging to large collections you don't see them go up for sale often so if you have always wanted one don't pass on this opportunity.
